Learning to Heal: My Journey With HS Disease and Self-Acceptance

Living with hidradenitis suppurativa hasn’t been easy. At first, I didn’t even understand what was happening to my body — just that the pain, the scars, and the flare-ups were becoming a part of my daily life. There were days when I felt like hiding, not just from people, but even from my own reflection.

Finding strength and hope in self-love

I began finding small ways to feel better — eating cleaner, understanding my triggers, wearing clothes that made me comfortable, and most importantly, being kind to myself. I also started speaking to others who go through this too, and that gave me hope.

You are not alone

Some days are still hard. But I’m healing — not just physically, but emotionally. And I want anyone reading this to know: You are not alone. You are brave for living with HS, and you are beautiful even when it doesn’t feel that way.
