diatomaceous Earth food grade

I was desperate for a way to stop the crazy sweating and pain from my pits. I was having flares every 15 days. I impulsively bought some diatomaceous earth powder. I patted a small amount on each pit after cleaning it with Hericleanse or a diluted oregano oil solution. It kept my pits dry and seemed to ease the pain and irritation (a strange burning sensation and itch). When I told my GP, she freaked out because it wasn’t made for humans (not true) and isn’t FDA approved. I said that Doctors recommend all sorts of non-FDA products (supplements, daily vitamins, OTC lotions, etc) and it was a shame she was not able to support the only remedy I had found. It did wonders for me.

Also, I had my reproductive hormone pellet updated after 4 flares and went into remission within 4 to 6 days. I also began Berberine 1 capsule 2X/day. I honestly believe that has helped prevent another flare. I got it from a Natropath, but you can get it online.

Gemmo, European black walnut oil 50 drops 2 to 3 times a day (away from other meds or supplements) is great for skin infections. Orally. I have not tried it topically. Not sure it would do much.

Castor oil packs over liver (right upper abdomen near ribs) will help detox the liver gently. Do at night.

When you reach a certain stage of HS, topical treatments are probably not going to be effective. That’s what my Natropath said. She said research shows that HS is linked to metabolic syndrome and non alcoholic fatty liver. If you help detox your liver and control blood sugar, you can decrease flares. I believe this to be true.

Good luck my friends. Don’t give up!!

  1. Wow, , thank you so much for sharing your experience with the community. I'm so glad that you've been able to find some things that help reduce your flares. I'm going to be honest, I had to google a few of the things you've mentioned as I hadn't heard of them before. It sounds like you've been working with a doctor as well as a naturopath for treating your symptoms? Are these all things that your naturopath suggested?

I do also want to share a link to an article that includes some alternative therapies / home remedies, https://hsdisease.com/alternative-treatment. We also recommend (for anyone else reading our thread here), to be sure to speak with your doctor or medical professional before starting anything new. Some over-the-counter and home remedies might have side effects or interfere with certain medications so it's always good to check with a medical professional who knows your personal history.

Thanks again for sharing here. We really appreciate hearing other peoples' stories.
