Non-Dairy New York City Egg Cream

Non-Dairy New York City Egg Cream

As a boy who proudly grew up in Brooklyn, New York, I have so many great memories. My dearest memories are the ones I share of my grandfather. As I take a trip down memory lane, I see my grandfather coming home from work and slowly walking towards me as I calmly sit and wait on the pouch for him to arrive. When he gets closer to me I remember him saying, “Joey, how about an egg cream?”

Those words were like music to my ears. Hence, he and I would walk into the house then make our way to the kitchen he would then gather his ingredients and I would excitedly sit back and watch my grandpa work his magic.

Although I had to update this family favorite recipe because dairy milk doesn’t agree with my hidradenitis suppurativa, it still doesn’t take away from the deliciousness of this drink.

If you all would like a refreshing cool drink to enjoy during the summer then I suggest you give my recipe shot.

Hope you all enjoy it. Please be sure to drop a comment letting me know if you ever had an egg cream.
