Going vegan cured me

I went vegan 10 years ago to help recovery times after all night raving in my 40s. I'd had six surgeries for HS before that, I've had none since, and no abscesses since. Apart from 2 weeks ago when I accidentally ate 4 veggie burgers made with dairy ingredients and the HS effects kicked in again - thankfully gone now.
And once you look into how cruel and unhealthy the dairy industry is (milk can contain millions of pus cells per litre) you'll feel a lot better

  1. I can't remember how long it took for the symptoms to disappear, I just remember realising a few years later that I'd no flare ups since that same point in my life, then double checking dates to see if there really was a correlation!
My doctor insists I'm not dairy intolerant despite the evidence of what happened when I quit/accidentally went back, (I also was due surgery on my right toe joint for arthritis, I never got round to booking it and the arthritis cleared up. Doc says this isn't possible, even when I bend my toe around painlessly in front of him while he holds the Xrays showing I did previously need surgery!)
I've heard other vegans say it took around six weeks when they noticed their various health improvements/condition reversals - although some athletes have shown there's benefits after 12 hours (The Game Changers, Netflix)

Good luck everyone who can try it and maybe never have to worry about HS again,😀
There's loads of new improved dairy free cheeses, milks, chocs etc so no need to miss out too much!

    1. thanks for sharing some of your specifics. It really is great of you to share your experience here.

And I agree on the new, improved dairy free options. Thank goodness there are available options these days! Wishing you a gentle day. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

  2. That's great, ! I'm so glad that going vegan has helped relieve your HS symptoms. I know a lot of our community members have been able to identify triggers, or manage symptoms with dietary changes. Many here also have found cutting out dairy to be helpful, although it doesn't necessarily work for everyone. I'm sharing a link to more information about HS and diet, in case anyone who sees your comment is interested in more information, https://hsdisease.com/diet, and this article has information specifically about the anti-inflammatory diet, https://hsdisease.com/clinical/anti-inflammatory-diet. It's wonderful that you are getting such relief! Can I ask how long it took for you to notice a difference in your symptoms after going vegan? Thanks for sharing your experience with the community here. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
