Bariatric Surgery for HS?

Hi All,

I have had chronic HS since my early 20s with little to no reprieve.

Constant flare ups, genetic prolonged QTs and fibromyalgia make me unable to exercise regularly due to the pain, fatigue and passing out under exertion issues. I also have an autoimmune problem that impacts my thyroid, making it extremely difficult to lose weight and keep it off even with regular medication.

All of this has lead to a really miserable situation that has made me seek bariatric surgery to lose this extra weight, just for the hope of some relief from the fibro and HS.

Does anyone have any stories or experience about how dramatic weight loss impacts your HS and its flareups? It would be helpful to know what to expect and to get a realistic view of my post-surgery expectations.

Thank you to anyone who offers insights 😀
