Hello to anyone , iv being experiencing pain in my heart area for 3 years & recently being diagnosed with h.s . Has anyone also had this heart pain ? Iv tried to get help from my g.p but get nowhere and told its anxiety . I'm certain it's not anxiety. I'm concerned il have a heart attack and die due to the amount of time that's past. The pain feels like pressure deep into the heart area and comes and goes regardless of what I'm doing , resting, walking , going to bed .

Hello Christine.laaksonen thank you for your messege and link . I seen dermatologist in February who made the diagnosis of h.s and also prescribed 2x different antibiotics which iv being taking but have only noticed minimal changes to the groin area and the pills have just made me feel run down and nauseas daily without the improvements i hoped for. With regards to seeing a new doctor , i do have an appointment soon with a new gp from outwith my area and hope to pass some knowledge of how this condition has impacted my life and give some insight into the emotional impact its had on me , hopefully this will help somebody else who's going through it also . I really am struggling with self loathing thoughts and anger towards the health professionals whom iv seen the past 11 years and not being believed. On many occasion I was told not to use google to self diagnos by the dr who i was seeing , the dr used google in front of me and said Iv got cysts on armpit , groin and buttocks I knew at the time this wasn't right but put my beliefs to 1 side in the hope the dr was right and I was just overthinking things. The daily pain and social anxiety the condition causes is just put to 1 side and said to be sensitivity which is also quite frustrating. Sorry if I have rambled a bit here it's the first time iv reached out and said what's on my chest . The management of h.s is very difficult as I also suffer from other complex trauma related conditions and sometimes give up my fight for a happy life but always get myself back to wanting a better life for the sake of my family and then begin the process of getting better . Its being a roller-coaster and rarely stable for long enough to completely be 100%
I hope and pray for understanding not only for me but also the people who are charged with our care as I know we are all fallible . Sending my love and best for all to be strong ❤️

Hi lori , many thanks for your messege . I hope you are managing OK ? as iv had multiple missed opportunities with my gp i feel like they deliberately let the condition get worse to eventually give a h.s diagnosis stage 2 and suggested its because i use dirty bath towels that i was getting the large boils with discharge . I'm not sure if they also are doing this with the heart pain iv being having. Could you advise on a professional person I can talk to about my feelings and how to plan my future. Once again my g.p just expects me to get on with the condition without any sighn posting to people who can help with diet , pycological impact its had on me . Thanks lori, sending you love and prayers you will be OK ❤️

Hello,
Iff you don't already have one, you might want to consider a dermatologist who specializes in HS. This doctor could be a good resource to start off with as they have experience with HS and its treatment options.
Also, as you mention wanting someone to talk with about your feelings, you could consider reaching out to a mental health professional. This article has information about mental health resources, https://hsdisease.com/mental-health/general-resources. And this article is written from one of our community members about the way that HS impacted their mental health, https://hsdisease.com/living/control-mental-health
Another professional you might want to consider, as you mention diet, is a dietician. Several of our community members here have found a dietician helpful in figuring out dietary triggers and changes to make to help manage symptoms.
How are you managing currently? You mention being recently diagnosed and I'm wondering how you're managing? Sending you gentle hugs. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

Hi
Back in my 20s, I had recurring chest pain and was also told it was likely caused by stress, but the ER referred me to a cardiologist anyway, probably just to placate me. It turned out to be a heart valve issue that, while relatively harmless, causes a tendonitis-like chest pain in some people. It wasn't caused by stress and it wasn't all in my head.
If your primary care doctor won't listen to you, you might want to consider getting a second opinion or finding a new doctor. Your health (especially your heart health) is too important. Chest pain of any kind really should trigger a referral to a cardiologist.
Remember that you, as the patient, are also a consumer. Your doctor is paid to treatment you even if you are on government assistance (Your taxes pay for that.). You need and deserve someone who listens and cares.
Please keep us posted. I'll be thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
