Helping with flare ups

Hi All. New hear but been suffering with HS since I was roughly 15 (now 34 diagnosed at 19) very, very recently after what is years of not knowing why my skin hates me! I had a good lul in flare ups for a good 6months then all of a sudden they came back with a vengeance! I had realised I had eaten eggs where I hadn't touched them for a while and I think this triggers the abscesses (not had allergy test this was the only odd thing out) I have also been taking turmeric gummies daily and I feel great they are starting to heel and sometimes I don't even need to put a plaster on! (I literally could keep shops in business with the amount i get through) Does any one else have any experience with flare ups and food?

  1. Welcome to the community, , and thanks for starting a conversation here. While I'm so sorry that you had a flare up with a vengeance, it's great that you've been able to identify a trigger. Food can be such a tough one!

A lot of our community members have found certain foods trigger their HS symptoms, so I hope some people here can comment and share their experiences with you. In the meantime I'm sharing a link to an article about HS and diet (this one is just a general overview), https://hsdisease.com/diet. And these next two articles are from two different advocates about their personal experiences with diet and HS, https://hsdisease.com/living/autoimmune-protocol-diet, https://hsdisease.com/living/elimination-diet. Hopefully those can be helpful while we wait for other people to chime in!

We're so glad to have you a part of the community here, please don't hesitate to reach out any time!
