Help! I am being treated with bimzelx

Hi. I'm fm, almost 68. I'm now being treated with Bimzelx for my stage 3 hidradenitis and, 8 shots later, this has driven my HS through the roof! It's my understanding this Bimzelx is supposed to make these horrible lesions dry up! It's done quite the opposite! Ok, my left armpit is really bad! But now it's a nasty, nasty, disgusting-smelling pus that comes out of all these holes I have there! I've smelt bad but this is outrageous! I've taken 8 shots so far, which is the loading dose! Not only armpits but inside thighs massive pus drainage! I started this drug with already infections going on but this is an outrage! Get what my derm told me before I even started it; he said the biologics push the pus out!! I think it's totally BS! Can anyone share a story with me about your experiences? I just know this drug (just like the others I've tried) is exacerbating this! I've tried Cosentix (which made me so sick after 2 loading doses). I was on Humira for 4 years and it didn't work, but it didn't make me sick like Cosentix or this Bimzelx. About 16 yrs ago, I tried Remicade for 1 year and it got so bad that pus discharge in my right arm. They had to premedicate me first with IV steroids just to tolerate the Remicade! Remicade has never been FDA approved! So I just made this as short a story as possible! God bless all the sufferers of this debilitating disease! Sincerely, L Parker

  1. The only way I've gotten rid of the bad tunneling kind of abscesses was by a surgeon going in there and removing infected tissue. Then you pack the wounds and let healthy tissue grow back. Every day you waste on these expensive treatments is just another day of pain and suffering you shouldn't be going through. My Dermatologist never offered to do surgery. My Urologist fixed some of my problems, then he found me a general surgeon that was very familiar with HS and he fixed me up in a hurry!! He cleaned everything out under my arm and on my back side and about six or seven weeks later I was healed up and back at work. I still get an abscess now and then. But if you have one that won't heal, there's nothing that will fix it without surgery. At least that's my experience. Stop hurting and get a referral to a surgeon now!

    1. Hi . That sounds miserable. I hope the drainage has calmed some and that you get input from others in the community. Keep us posted if you don't mind. I'll be thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
