My dermatologist would like me to do humera injections which you have to give yourself every 2 weeks I am 62 and don't like the side effects...anyone had good results?

Shots or not

  1. Hi , thanks for reaching out. I hope some other community members can share their experiences with Humira. Although, I would say that if you're disliking the side effects you're experiencing, it might be worth a conversation with your doctor about what other options you have. There are several treatments and medications available, should your current treatment not be meeting your needs. (I'm linking an article here with more information, this one on treatment in general, https://hsdisease.com/treatment, and this one about other biologics, https://hsdisease.com/biologics.) In the meantime, here is a link to an article by one of our health leaders about her experience with Humira, https://hsdisease.com/living/new-solution.) Wishing you a gentle day. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    1. I've had pretty good success with the over the counter anti-fungal Fluconazole (Canesten). Maybe a cure for me. Can't say if it would help others with HS. I've posted a long essay on my experience at this forum under "Treatment".

      1. thanks so much for sharing what's been helpful treating your HS! I'm so glad to hear that you're getting some relief, and it's always nice when community members share with each other. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
