Hi...I've been suffering with this since late teens, I'm now 52. Until recently I didn't even know this was an actual medical condition even though I been to the gp numerous times. I'm so glad to be able to share as I found unless you are living with it people don't understand, it's not something you speak about in general conversation. 'Hey Bob, I've got this massive boil in my groin that's oozing' and walking like a cowboy during flare ups.
I tend to make jokes about it because if I didn't...well, I can't be the only one who has wanted to hid from the world due to it.

  1. , I just want to echo Rachel in welcoming you to our community here. It can be so helpful to have others who understand what living with HS is like, and to know that you're not alone. This community is here for you! -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    1. Hi, - it's so true, unless you are living with HS, it's so difficult for others to understand. I'm so happy you found our community here. As you navigate our community, feel free to check out some of the articles written by health leaders living with hidradenitis suppurativa: https://hsdisease.com/page/1 and the stories some of our community members have shared: https://hsdisease.com/stories. Many of them share the same sentiments you mentioned above. Again, thanks for being here with us! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. -Rachel (Team Member)
