Uncommon HS Flare Areas?

I know the armpits, groin, buttocks, breasts, and stomach are really common flare areas, but do you get outbreaks in areas not normally mentioned or spoken about?

Over the last few weeks, I've been getting flares on my scalp that get so painful. Sometimes it hurts to lay down because it feels like all the blood is rushing to the flare and makes it pulse and pound. So far I've just been doing warm compresses because I'm scared of putting anything on my scalp that'll end up bleaching or dying my hair.

Do you get flares in not common spots and how do you manage them? Thank you so much.

  1. Great Question Selina! This is so important because people get misdiagnosed when they experience HS flares in uncommon areas.

For me, I also experience HS on my scalp, neck, and back. The neck ones can be challenging because they are painful and more visible than my other flares.
