Partial Mastectomy Due to HS

I’ve been an HS warrior for over 25 years. I went undiagnosed for years. In 2024, I was diagnosed after many years of treating breast infections. After being on antibiotics for months at a time, my primary doctor referred me out to a breast specialist. After years of pain and discomfort, the breast surgeon advised me that the only treatment would be removing the areola due to the lesion being behind the nipple.

Hidradenitis suppurativa damaged my breast

I’m 30 days post op. There were 12 lesions in my breast duct, throughout the entire breast. Never in a million years would I have thought HS would cause me to lose part of my breast. I’m here to share and be part of a community that understands and feels my agony and pain.
